Le Dumont-d'Urville

Le Dumont-d'Urville is the fourth ship in Ponant’s Explorers class of small cruise ships. It is named after the French explorer Jules Dumont d’Urville; its planned name Le Kerguelen was changed before service. Built by VARD, the hull was made in Tulcea, Romania, and final outfitting happened at VARD Søviknes in Ålesund, Norway. The ship was delivered to Ponant on 14 June 2019 and was set to start its maiden voyage on 7 August 2019. It can carry 184 passengers. Identifications: IMO 9814052, MMSI 578001200, callsign FLDS. The port of registry is Mata Utu, Wallis and Futuna. Operator: Ponant.
