List of international presidential trips made by Barack Obama
Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States, made 52 international trips to 58 countries during his presidency, which lasted from January 20, 2009, to January 20, 2017. He was the most-traveled president in his first year in office, visiting many countries and spending a total of 37 days outside the United States.
He made 10 trips to 21 countries, with four countries visited twice.
In the United Kingdom, he had a State Visit that included meetings with Queen Elizabeth II, Prime Minister David Cameron, and opposition leader Ed Miliband. He laid a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abbey and addressed the UK Parliament.
Obama also met with European leaders as part of the group known as the Quint: German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President François Hollande, British Prime Minister Theresa May, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, and Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy. They discussed trade, the Russo-Ukrainian War, the Syrian Civil War, and ISIL.
During his presidency (2009–2017), there were multilateral meetings with various international organizations.
