2008–09 Cypriot Cup
The 2008–09 Cypriot Cup was the 67th edition of Cyprus’s main football cup. It ran from 23 September 2008 to 16 May 2009 and featured 28 teams from the Cypriot First and Second Divisions. Teams from the Third and Fourth Divisions played in a separate cup competition.
The competition had five rounds. All rounds except the final were two-legged ties (home and away), with the winner decided by aggregate goals. If the tie was level on aggregate, the away goals rule applied; if still level, extra time and penalties were used. The final was a single-match contest held at the GSP Stadium. The cup winner earned a place in the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League.
In the end, APOP Kinyras won their first Cypriot Cup title after beating AEL Limassol 2–0 in the final. The finalists were APOP Kinyras and AEL Limassol, with both teams advancing through the semifinals to reach the final.
