Fullersburg, Illinois
Fullersburg is an unincorporated area in DuPage County, Illinois, located in Downers Grove and York townships near the Cook County border. It never became its own town, but it helped shape nearby Hinsdale and Oak Brook.
The area began as Brush Hill. After the 1833 Treaty of Chicago opened lands for settlement, Orente Grant claimed the land. In 1835 Benjamin Fuller from New York arrived with his family and settled at Ginger Creek, near what would become Spring Road in Oak Brook. Fuller built a house in 1840 on what is now York Road. By 1851 Fuller owned most of the land and laid out the town, changing the name from Brush Hill to Fullersburg.
Fullersburg sits about 663 feet above sea level and lies in the Central Time Zone (UTC-6, UTC-5 in summer). The coordinates are roughly 41.818° N, 87.918° W.
