CKRB-FM
CKRB-FM is a French-language radio station in Saint-Georges, Quebec. Owned by Radio Beauce, a part of Groupe Radio Simard, it broadcasts on 103.5 MHz with 17,000 watts (Class B) from an omnidirectional antenna. The station airs adult contemporary music and calls itself Cool FM 103,5.
History highlights:
- Began on July 22, 1952 as CKRB on AM 1400 with 250 watts.
- Moved to AM 1250 in 1959 (5,000 watts).
- Switched to AM 1460 in 1965 (10,000 watts daytime, 5,000 watts nighttime).
- Converted to AM stereo by 1985.
- Moved to FM on 103.3 MHz on March 29, 1999.
- In 2005, the CRTC approved a move to 103.5 MHz with 17,000 watts; the 103.5 frequency was adopted in January 2009.
- CIRB in Lac-Etchemin served as a rebroadcaster from 1977 to 1991.
