Zola Mlenzana
Zola Mlenzana is a South African politician from the Eastern Cape. He used to be a member of the Congress of the People (COPE) from 2008 to 2014, after having been with the African National Congress (ANC).
In 2009, after the national and provincial elections, he was elected as a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) representing COPE from the Eastern Cape. He served on several NCOP committees, including Labour and Public Enterprises, Public Services, and Land and Environmental Affairs, during the 2009–2014 period.
Before the 2014 elections, Mlenzana and many COPE MPs left COPE and rejoined the ANC.
In 2017 he was elected chairperson of an ANC branch, and in 2018 he became the chairperson of the South African National Civic Organization in the Eastern Cape.
In 2019 he stood for election to the National Assembly as an ANC candidate from the Eastern Cape list and won a seat. He served on the Standing Committee on Appropriations and the Standing Committee on Auditor General.
In the 2024 election, he was placed 166th on the ANC’s national list, which was not high enough to secure re-election.
