Vedasandur is a panchayat town in Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu, India. It lies about 21 km from Dindigul city, 25 km from Oddanchatram, and 82 km from Madurai.

Etymology
The name comes from Vedan Sandhaiur, where Vedan means hunter and Sandhai means the place of selling.

Geography
Vedasandur is a suburb of Dindigul, located around 10.53°N latitude and 77.95°E longitude, with an elevation of about 219 metres (719 ft). It sits on the Kodaganar river, a major drinking water source for Dindigul. The town lies on National Highway 7 and State Highway 152 connects Vadamadurai to Oddanchatram and Palani.

Demographics
As of the 2001 census, Vedasandur had a population of about 14,998, with 51% males and 49% females. The literacy rate was around 75% (males 81%, females 70%), and about 17% of the population was under 6 years old. There are many spinning mills in the area.

Transport
The town is well connected by public transport to Salem, Erode, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Madurai, Namakkal, Karur, Hosur, and Bangalore.

Politics
Vedasandur assembly constituency is part of the Karur Lok Sabha constituency. The MLA listed in the article is Ganthirajan S.
