Risoba obstructa

Risoba obstructa is a moth in the Nolidae family. It was first described by Frederic Moore in 1881.

Distribution
This species is found from Sri Lanka and India to the Philippines, Solomon Islands, and Australia.

Size
Wingspan is about 28–36 mm.

Description
- Head and thorax are brown.
- Forewings are whitish with brown speckles and feature an oblique white band near the base, with a red-brown area just beyond it along the leading edge.
- The reniform (kidney-shaped) mark is round with a dark center.
- There is a postmedial oblique double line, slightly curved below vein 4, and the area beyond it is red brown with traces of a submarginal waved line.
- The apex has some dark specks and a series of brown and white specks along the margin.
- Hindwings are semi-transparent white with a broad brown outer margin.

Larva
The caterpillar is purplish brown with pale sides, white lines along the back and sides, and a series of black dots between the lateral lines. It has a cone-shaped bump on the anal segment.

Host plants
Larvae have been recorded on Quisqualis, Terminalia, Xylia, Lagerstroemia, and Sterculia species.
