Ultra Japan
Ultra Japan is an outdoor electronic dance music festival in Tokyo, Japan. It is part of Ultra Music Festival’s global expansion to about twenty countries. The festival began in 2014 as a two-day event at Tokyo’s Odaiba Ultra Park, featuring three stages: the Main Stage, the Ultra Worldwide Arena, and the UMF Radio Stage. The inaugural edition drew over 42,000 attendees.
In 2015, Ultra Japan grew to three days (Sept 19–21) at the same site, adding the Resistance Stage for the final two days. The lineup included acts like Dash Berlin, David Guetta, Skrillex, and Alesso, with attendance around 90,000.
The 2016 edition ran Sept 16–18 with three stages—Mainstage, Live Stage, and Resistance. Big-name acts such as deadmau5, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Nero, DJ Snake, Kygo, Tiesto, and Marshmello were on the bill, and attendance reached about 120,000.
The festival has continued annually, with attendance around 100,000 in 2018. The 2022 edition was held on Sept 17–18, featuring performers like Afrojack, KSHMR, Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, Zedd, and others. Ultra Japan is for attendees aged 20 and over.
