Torun Dewan
Torun Dewan is a political science professor at the London School of Economics. He studies political parties and coalitions, ministerial changes, and how legislatures and governments behave. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1996, an MSc from LSE in 1997, and a DPhil from Nuffield College, Oxford in 2002. He has been a visiting professor at New York University (2012) and a Visiting Lecturer on Government at Harvard (2004–2005). He co-edits the Journal of Theoretical Politics and sits on the editorial board of the Journal of the European Political Science Association. His work uses game theory and political economy to study political decisions, including how pirates’ bargaining on ships can model legislative bargaining. His research has appeared in major journals such as the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, and the Quarterly Journal of Political Science.
