Tivadar Andrássy
Count Tivadar Andrássy de Csíkszentkirály et Krasznahorka (10 July 1857 – 13 May 1905) was a Hungarian politician, painter, and art collector. Born in Paris to the statesman Gyula Andrássy and Katinka Kendeffy, he studied in Vienna and Budapest. In 1881 he was elected Member of Parliament for the Tőketerebes district. He later served on the House of Representatives economics committee and, as president of the Committee on Conflict of Interest, resigned around 1897. An avid art patron and painter of landscapes, he supported the arts in Trebišov and, from 1890, was president of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. He was also a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the National Museum, and the Metropolitan Board of Public Works. In 1907, the Fine Arts Society exhibited 80 of his works posthumously. He married Countess Eleonóra Zichy in 1885 and they had four daughters: Ilona, Borbála, Katinka, and Klára. He died in Budapest in 1905; his widow later married his former brother-in-law Gyula the Younger.
