Thunder Seven
Thunder Seven is the seventh studio album by the Canadian hard rock band Triumph, released on November 19, 1984. It was recorded in July and August 1984 at Metalworks in Mississauga, Ontario. The album lasts 40 minutes and 51 seconds and was produced by Eddie Kramer for MCA Records.
The second half of the album features three tracks with a time-themed concept. Thunder Seven earned gold status in the United States, selling more than 500,000 copies, as certified by the RIAA on April 21, 2003. The single "Follow Your Heart" was Triumph’s highest-charting song at the time, reaching number 88 in both the US and the UK, and number 35 on the Canadian charts. A music video for "Follow Your Heart" was filmed live at the Providence Civic Center in Rhode Island after a concert, with fans invited to stay to watch the filming.
"Spellbound" was released as a single but did not perform as well, charting in Canada and barely making the US top 100. Thunder Seven was the last Triumph album written entirely by the band members; earlier records often included outside writers (except for 1977’s Rock & Roll Machine). The cover art, by Dean Motter, depicts a mechanized version of Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. All tracks were written by Gil Moore, Mike Levine and Rik Emmett, except where noted.
