Geoffrey Gilmore
Geoffrey Gilmore is a leader in the film festival world and a educator. He is the Director of the Tribeca Film Festival and the Creative Director of Tribeca Enterprises, which runs the Tribeca Film Festival, Tribeca Cinemas, and Tribeca Film Festival Doha. He also serves as a faculty member in UCLA’s Producers Program. Before Tribeca, he spent 19 years as Director of the Sundance Film Festival, overseeing film selection and overall festival direction.
Gilmore regularly hosts seminars and conferences on independent filmmaking and distribution around the world. He teaches at UCLA, is a Distinguished Lecturer at Florida State University, and leads master classes for film schools in Germany and France. He has served on many international film juries and headed the UCLA Film and Television Archive’s Programming Department for 15 years. He holds a Master’s degree in Film Criticism and has written extensively on American independent cinema. He has appeared on media programs and has served on the boards of the Independent Feature Project and the Independent Spirit Awards committee. His partner is filmmaker Julie le Brocquy.
