Thomas Hassell (1819–1896) was an English cricketer who played one first-class match for Kent in 1847. He was born in Eynsford, Kent, the son of farmer Thomas Hassell and his wife Ann. A batsman, he played club cricket for Dartford (1842–1844) and Gravesend (1845–1847), including a score of 58 not out for Gravesend against an Essex XI in 1846. He appeared for the Gentlemen of Kent in May 1847 and then played for Kent in a first-class match against Sussex at Tunbridge Wells in June 1847. In the first innings he was nine not out and then opened the second innings, where he was dismissed for 1. The following season he played for West Kent against the All England Eleven at Gravesend. By 1851 he was farming 300 acres at Swanscombe, between Dartford and Gravesend. He married and had three children; by 1881 he was blind and living at Southfleet. He died in Dartford in mid-1896 at the age of 76.
