The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC is the luxury hotel brand of Marriott International. It began in 1983 when William B. Johnson bought the Ritz-Carlton Boston and formed the company to expand the brand. Today, it operates about 115 luxury properties worldwide: 44 in the United States and Canada, 38 in Asia-Pacific, 14 in the Middle East and Africa, 11 in Europe, and 8 in the Caribbean and Latin America. The brand is known for its high level of service and its motto, “We are Ladies and Gentlemen Serving Ladies and Gentlemen.”

The Ritz-Carlton is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, and remains a subsidiary of Marriott International. The company also runs The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, a luxury cruise line with ships Evrima (launched 2022), Ilma (delivered 2024, entered service 2024), and Luminara (delivered 2025). In 2025, Ritz-Carlton opened a Maasai Mara Safari Camp in Kenya that drew attention for an environmental dispute.
