The Inquilab
The Inquilab is an Urdu daily newspaper in India. It is owned by Jagran Prakashan Limited, which also publishes Dainik Jagran. Editors include Abdul Wadood Sajid (North) and Shahid Latif (Mumbai). Founded in 1938 by Abdul Hamid Ansari as an underground paper during India's freedom movement, it later came under Jagran Prakashan after they bought the Midday group in 2010. Originally published from Mumbai, it expanded to northern India and became the most-read Urdu newspaper, surpassing Rashtriya Sahara. In 2017, its circulation was about 127,255.
