Marty Griffin (baseball)
Marty Griffin (Martin John Griffin) was an American pitcher in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Boston Red Sox in 1928. Born September 2, 1901, in San Francisco, California, he was 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed 200 pounds. He batted and threw right-handed. Griffin debuted on July 25, 1928, and appeared in 11 games that season, including three starts. He had a 0–3 record with a 5.02 ERA, 9 strikeouts, 17 walks, and 42 hits allowed in 37 2/3 innings. He died November 19, 1951, in Los Angeles, California, at age 50.
