HiveMind
HiveMind was a proposed real-life simulation by Will Wright’s company, described as “personal gaming.” The idea was that the game would learn about you—your routines and interests—and use real-world information to create a unique, tailored gaming experience. Players would opt in to data use, and the game would build content based on that data.
In June 2012, the project was put on hold because of ongoing legal disputes among the company’s leaders. Wright said HiveMind was still a company but had no money and was frozen due to the litigation.
On October 26, 2012, Wright and co-founder Jawad Ansari announced they had settled their disagreements. Wright said the settlement allowed the project to move forward, but a release date was never announced, and the project was ultimately shut down after the settlement.
