The Door to Doom is the twelfth studio album by Swedish doom metal band Candlemass. It was released on February 22, 2019, through Napalm Records. The album was recorded in 2018 at Deep Well Studios and The Brick Hit House, both in Stockholm, Sweden. It runs 48 minutes and 43 seconds and is categorized as epic doom metal. All songs were written by Leif Edling, and the album was produced by Marcus Jidell. This was Candlemass’s first full-length studio album since Psalms for the Dead (2012) and marked the return of vocalist Johan Längqvist, who hadn’t sung on a Candlemass album since Epicus Doomicus Metallicus (1986). Loudwire named The Door to Doom one of the 50 best metal albums of 2019.
