Paddy "Bogside" Doherty (Patrick Laurence Doherty) (1926 – 7 January 2016) was a Northern Irish activist from Derry who worked to rebuild the city after The Troubles. As vice-chairman of the Derry Citizens Defence Association, he played a key role in the August 1969 events that led to the Battle of the Bogside and became a leading figure in Free Derry in the years that followed. By trade he was a carpenter and builder. He later worked with the Irish Foundation for Human Development in Derry and founded the Inner City Trust.
