Tara Lee Morin
Tara Lee Morin is a Canadian writer and poet from Manitoba. She was born in a remote First Nations community to a teenage mother and spent her childhood in foster care after being taken from her home. As a teen, she struggled with drug and alcohol problems and was involved in crime and prostitution. Her memoir As I Remember It (2011) describes these experiences and how she rebuilt her life in a positive direction. The book was a finalist for the 2013 Burt Award for First Nations, Métis and Inuit Literature. Morin has also written poetry.
