Stoltenhoff Island is a small, uninhabited island in the South Atlantic Ocean. It is the smallest of the Nightingale Islands, lying northwest of Nightingale Island. The Nightingale Islands are part of Tristan da Cunha, a British overseas territory that also includes Saint Helena and Ascension. Stoltenhoff Island is in the Nightingale Islands group, which is an Important Bird Area (IBA) because seabirds and some landbirds breed there. The island is named after German brothers Gustav and Friedrich Stoltenhoff, who tried to settle on nearby Inaccessible Island but left after two difficult years. Coordinates: 37°24′8″S 12°29′21″W.
