Heinrich Ludwig Julius Heppe (March 30, 1820 – July 25, 1879) was a German Calvinist theologian and church historian. He was born in Kassel and earned his doctorate at the University of Marburg in 1844, studying with the Orientalist Hermann Hupfeld. In 1845 he became a pastor at St. Martin Church in Kassel. He joined the Marburg faculty as an associate professor of theology in 1850 and became a full professor in 1864. Heppe mainly worked in dogmatics and Hessian church history. At Marburg he often clashed with the strict Confessional Lutheranism of August Friedrich Christian Vilmar.
