Renato Ibarra
Alex Renato Ibarra Mina, born January 20, 1991, in Ambuquí, Ecuador, is a professional footballer who plays as a right winger for Independiente del Valle. He is 1.75 meters tall and wears number 30.
Early career and El Nacional: Ibarra began with El Nacional in Ecuador, making his senior debut on May 17, 2009. He scored his first goal for the club on March 9, 2011, and finished his time there with 31 appearances and 3 goals.
Move to Europe: In July 2011, he joined Dutch club Vitesse, where he developed as a regular winger and scored several goals across multiple seasons.
Mexico and success: In June 2016, Ibarra moved to Club América in Mexico for about $2 million. He helped América win the Apertura 2018 and reach other finals during his time there.
Loans and later career: In March 2020, América said he would no longer be part of the squad due to domestic violence charges. He went on loan to Atlas (2020–2021), then to Tijuana in 2022, and to LDU Quito in 2023. In 2024, he joined Independiente del Valle in Ecuador.
International career: Ibarra has represented Ecuador since 2011, earning 46 caps and scoring 1 goal. He played for Ecuador at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2015 Copa América, and he also appeared for the Ecuador U-20 team at the 2011 U-20 World Cup.
