Presbyterian Synod of Southwest Guatemala
Presbyterian Synod of Southwest Guatemala (Spanish: Sinodo Evangelico Presbiteriano Sur Oeste de Guatemala) split from the National Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Guatemala in 1993. Since then, the two groups have been in a court dispute over land and property. The Synod tried to join AIPRAL in 1994 but was denied. It helped found CLIR, the Confederation of Latin American Reformed Churches, a more conservative group than AIPRAL. The church has about 6,540 members. It follows the Apostles’ Creed and the Westminster Confession.
