Prashant Ranade
Prashant Ranade is a business leader with extensive experience in technology and manufacturing. He studied mechanical engineering at IIT Bombay, then moved to the United States to earn an MS in Control Engineering from the University of Cincinnati (1977) and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Xavier University (1982). He began his career at Siemens Energy and Automation and spent 27 years there, rising to lead a group company with revenue over $2 billion. Ranade joined Syntel in 2007 and served as CEO and president from February 2010, later becoming executive vice chairman, and then co-chairman in November 2016. He retired in May 2020. Since May 2019 he has been an independent director on the Brinker International board. He has taught MBA courses as an adjunct professor at Grand Valley State University and is active in professional groups such as the National Association of Corporate Directors, IEEE, and MAPI, and has written articles on electromechanical equipment and leadership.
