Gunnera monoica
Gunnera monoica is a small Gunnera plant native to New Zealand. It is one of the smallest Gunnera species, with leaves about 3 cm wide. It spreads by runners (stolons) across damp ground. It flowers from October to November and forms fruit from December to February. The flowers are greenish, and the fruit is barrel-shaped and white, though some varieties may have purple or red flecks. The fruits are very small, about 2 mm long, and range from red to reddish-yellow. It grows in moist, lowland forests and grasslands and is evergreen. It is native to New Zealand and is often found on damp banks and old road cuttings.
