Piaggio Boxer
The Piaggio Boxer is a moped made by Piaggio from 1970 to 1983 in Pontedera, Italy. It was replaced by the Piaggio Si. The Boxer had two main series.
First series: It used a plastic underseat fuel tank, 18-inch wheels, and a small single-seat (a longer saddle was optional). Some early B1M models had a front shackle suspension like the Piaggio Ciao, but most Boxers used a front telescopic fork (B2V and B3M). There were two transmission setups: B2V models had a variator with expanding pulleys and an automatic centrifugal clutch, while B1M and B3M used only a centrifugal clutch with a final pulley. The chassis number plate was moved to the end of the rear fender.
Second series (Boxer 2): It had different stickers, frame profile, a front fender without rods, gray plastic, and 17-inch wheels. It came in two versions: BTM (single-speed) and BTV (with variator). This series did not use the biscuit suspension.
In short, the Boxer evolved into the Si, keeping a similar layout and engine but with a new chassis.
