Revtraviricetes is a class of viruses that all encode reverse transcriptase. This group includes all ssRNA-RT viruses (such as retroviruses) and dsDNA-RT viruses. It is the only class in the phylum Artverviricota, which is the only phylum in the kingdom Pararnavirae. The name combines "reverse transcriptase" with the suffix -viricetes, which is used for virus classes.
