Pogonip Group
The Pogonip Group is a rock unit from the Early Ordovician period found in southern Nevada and Utah, United States. In Nevada, it includes rocks such as the Antelope Valley Limestone, the Ninemile Formation, and the Goodwin Limestone. The group lies above the Windfall Formation and below the Copenhagen Formation. It was named for Pogonip Ridge in White Pine County, Nevada, by Clarence King. The Pogonip Group contains fossils that date back to the Early Ordovician.
