Philip Baldi (born 1946) is an American linguist and classical scholar who specializes in Indo-European studies. He is Professor Emeritus of Linguistics and Classics at Pennsylvania State University.

Baldi was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 1946. He earned a BA in Classics from the University of Scranton in 1968. He then earned an MA in Linguistics (1971) and a PhD in Linguistics (1973) from the University of Rochester.

In 1981, Baldi joined Penn State as a professor of Linguistics and Classics. He has written numerous books and articles on Indo-European studies.
