Torra di Miomu
Tower of Miomu (Torra di Miomu) is a Genoese coastal tower on the east coast of Corsica, in the commune of Santa-Maria-di-Lota, about 6 km north of Bastia. Built in 1561, it was part of Genoa’s system of coastal defenses from 1530 to 1620 to protect against Barbary pirates. The tower guarded the Poggiolo valley in Cap Corse. In 1927, it was listed as a French historical monument.
