Paroedura
Paroedura, the Madagascar ground geckos, is a group of geckos found only in Madagascar and the Comoros. They are mainly ground-dwellers, but the young geckos can climb until they become too heavy for their feet.
There are 25 recognized species in this genus. A well-known species is Paroedura picta, the ocellated gecko.
