The Saddle Club
The Saddle Club is a children’s live-action TV series from Australia and Canada, based on books by Bonnie Bryant. Developed for TV by Sarah Dodd, it follows three best friends who start a club at Pine Hollow Stables. They train for horse-riding competitions, deal with everyday school and friendship problems, and meet various staff at the stables. Their rival is another rider named Veronica DiAngelo. The show often shares messages about friendship and teamwork.
The series ran from 2001 to 2009, with 78 episodes over three seasons. It was filmed in Victoria, Australia—primarily in the Yarra Valley for the first two seasons and in Daylesford for the third. In Seasons 1 and 2, the three Saddle Club girls were played by Keenan MacWilliam, Sophie Bennett, and Lara Jean Marshall, with Heli Simpson and Kia Luby in supporting roles. In Season 3, new cast members joined: Victoria Campbell, Lauren Dixon, Ariel Kaplan, Marny Kennedy, and Aisha Dee.
The Saddle Club aired in several countries, including Canada (YTV), Australia (ABC TV and Nine), and the United States (Discovery Kids, PBS, and others). The show also released music albums and staged live performances for fans.
