Nikolai Hopland

Nikolai Søyset Hopland, born 24 July 2004, is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a centre-back. He is 1.86 m tall and currently plays for Heerenveen in the Netherlands on loan from Aalesund.

Hopland started with Aalesund and also played for Rollon in 2016–2018, while taking part in children’s futsal with Rollon. He returned to Aalesund in 2019, advanced through the academy, and made his first-team debut in 2021 as the club moved up to the Eliteserien. In 2022 he was loaned to Kristiansund, where he appeared only twice. He scored his first Aalesund goal on 6 November 2022 in a 2–1 win over Lillestrøm.

On 2 September 2024, Hopland moved on loan to Heerenveen with an option to buy. He has made 29 appearances for Heerenveen and scored 2 goals.

Internationally, Hopland has represented Norway at the U17, U18, U19 and U21 levels.
