SH2 (classification)
SH2 is a Paralympic shooting class for athletes with more severe upper‑limb impairments. They usually use a shooting stand. In SH2, competitors shoot with a rifle only; pistols are not used (unlike SH1). Subclasses A, B and C define the backrest height of a wheelchair, based on each athlete’s back and pelvic strength. Both ambulant and wheelchair users compete in SH2, regardless of subclass. Classification is handled by IPC Shooting. The IPC Shooting Classification Rules and Regulations were published in May 2012, updating the previous rules to align with the IPC Classification Code.
