Navy Wife is a 1956 American comedy directed by Edward Bernds. The screenplay by Kay Lenard is based on the novel Mother Sir by Tats Blain. Produced by Walter Wanger, the film stars Joan Bennett as Peg Blain, Gary Merrill as Jack Blain, Shirley Yamaguchi, and Judy Nugent as Debby.

Plot
In post-war Japan, Peg Blain and her daughter Debby join Peg’s husband, Captain Jack Blain. Peg and Debby are independent, and the local Japanese wives take notice, later demanding the same rights and privileges. The issue is discussed and resolved at a military Christmas party.
