The Municipality of Prevalje is in northern Slovenia, in the traditional region of Carinthia, near the Austrian border. The town of Prevalje is the administrative center. The municipality became official in 1999. It covers 58.1 square kilometers and has about 6,827 residents (as of July 1, 2018). The population density is around 118 people per square kilometer. The mayor is Matija Tasič. The municipality includes Prevalje and several other settlements. It uses Central European Time (UTC+1) and Central European Summer Time (UTC+2). Its website is prevalje.si.
