BioBus is a mobile biology lab inside a school bus. It brings hands-on biology lessons to K-12 students and community groups. When a school or group requests a visit, a team of scientists travels to the site. Inside the bus, students take part in real science experiments and demonstrations, showing that science can be fun and exciting beyond textbooks.

BioBus began in 1999 at Georgia State University with support from the National Science Foundation. Since then, it has made about 1,000 visits and reached more than 286,000 people. The idea has spread beyond Georgia, reaching places such as New York City.
