Richard Francis Cash, known as Rick Cash, was born July 1, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri. He’s a former NFL defensive lineman who played as a defensive end and defensive tackle. He stood 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighed 248 pounds.

Cash began his college career at the University of Missouri before transferring to Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State). He was drafted in 1968 in the 10th round (260th overall) by the Green Bay Packers but did not make the team. The Atlanta Falcons signed him in 1968, where he played both tackle and defensive end.

He then joined the Los Angeles Rams, playing from 1969 to 1971, with injuries limiting his time in 1970 and 1971. In 1972 he was traded to the New England Patriots in the Fred Dryer trade, where he served as special teams captain and played at right defensive end and right defensive tackle. He had 95 tackles in 1972 and 92 in 1973, plus three sacks in 1973, and appeared in 28 straight regular-season games (27 starts) after joining the Patriots.

Cash also spent time in the World Football League with the Philadelphia Bell (1974) and the San Antonio Wings (1975). His professional career includes 64 NFL games played, 27 starts, and 5 fumble recoveries.
