Monodonta confusa
Monodonta confusa is a sea snail in the top snail family Trochidae. Its shell grows to about 20 mm tall and 18 mm wide. The shell is pink with dark, cloudy markings and resembles Monodonta labio.
On the shell, the second-to-last turn has 5 or 6 spiral ridges, while the last turn has 13 or 14 ridges. The ridge next to the seam is very narrow, and the other ridges are roughly the same size but taper toward the bottom. Unlike Monodonta labio, there are no tiny lines between the ridges on the last turn. The ridges are deeply cut into oblong, diamond-shaped blocks by vertical grooves.
The bottom inner edge of the shell has a small, sharp tooth, smaller than in Monodonta labio. Monodonta confusa lives in marine waters off Japan, Singapore, and the Philippines.
