Maebe A. Girl, also known as G. Pudlo, is an American drag queen and politician. Born July 27, 1986, in Pittsburgh, she is non-binary and uses she/her and they/them pronouns. She is 6 ft 2 in tall and an ordained minister.

In 2019, she became the first drag queen elected to public office in the United States when she won a seat on the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council in Los Angeles. On the council, she co-chairs the Silver Lake LGBTQIA Advocates Committee and served as Homelessness Liaison, pushing for encampment cleanups and programs for unhoused residents.

Her platform focuses on homelessness, LGBTQIA rights, immigrant protection, Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, abortion rights, housing support for the unhoused, and Education for All. She supports the Armenian community and GALAS LGBTQ+ Armenian Society.

Girl has run for Congress several times. She announced a bid against Adam Schiff in 2019 for California’s 28th district, hoping to become the first openly transgender person elected to Congress. She finished third in the primary. She ran again in 2020 and 2022 (the latter after redistricting, for California’s 30th district), advancing to the general election in 2022 and becoming the first Democrat to reach a general against Schiff. After Schiff retired to run for the Senate in 2024, Girl announced another bid for his seat. In 2023 she announced a run for the 30th district in 2024, but she finished fifth in the primary and was not on the ballot in November. In 2025 she announced a 2026 campaign for the California State Senate in the 26th district.

Personal details: Girl grew up in Pittsburgh, spent time in Chicago where she did pizza tours and volunteered at Lincoln Park Community Center, and moved to Highland Park, Los Angeles, in 2014. She hosts the Lyric Hyperion Theatre’s drag brunch and is known for satirical impressions of political figures. She has described drag as part of who she is as a transgender person.

Yes, she has used the name Maebe Pudlo and has been featured in discussions about transgender visibility, including a 2023 roundtable for Yes! Magazine. She has expressed progressive views and has supported candidates such as Bernie Sanders, Alex Gruenenfelder for Los Angeles mayor, and Marianne Williamson.
