Michael Camerini
Michael Camerini is a British-born American film director, producer and cinematographer. He lives in New York City and works with his partner Shari Robertson. They run The Epidavros Project, Inc. and Epidoko Pictures.
Camerini makes documentaries about immigration, democracy, religion and everyday life. Notable films include FRONTLINE: Immigration Battle, Niger: Tales of Resilience, How Democracy Works Now, Well-Founded Fear, These Girls Are Missing, Becoming the Buddha in L.A., Dadi's Family and Born Again: Life in a Fundamentalist Baptist Church. His work has appeared on HBO, CNN and PBS, and has been shown at major festivals like the Human Rights Watch Film Festival in London and New York, and Sundance.
He aims for a non-intrusive filming style that helps people tell their own stories. In 2010, HBO broadcast several of his projects, including The Game is On, Mountains and Clouds, Sam in the Snow, Marking Up the Dream and Senators' Bargain. His films have been official selections at HRWFF and Sundance, and he won a Silver Prize at the Chicago International Film Festival.
