Merillon Avenue is a Long Island Rail Road station on the Main Line, served by Port Jefferson Branch trains. It sits at Nassau Boulevard and Merillon Avenue, on the border of Garden City Park and Garden City in Nassau County, New York. The station has two side platforms, three tracks, parking, bicycle facilities, and is accessible for passengers with disabilities. A cross-under at Nassau Boulevard lets riders reach either platform, and there is commuter parking available.

History in brief: A station at this site began in 1911 near the older Clowesville stop (established in 1837). In the 1870s it was briefly named Garden City to mislead travelers about another nearby Garden City station. The court for Nassau County moved away in 1877, and trains stopped there less often until the 1911 reopening; the station house was built in 1912. It was rebuilt in 1958 with a smaller building. As part of the Main Line Third Track project in the late 2010s and early 2020s, the station was extensively rebuilt to accommodate longer trains, including relocating Platform B, replacing the Nassau Boulevard bridge, and updating the station with new canopies, benches, signage, cameras, Wi‑Fi, USB charging, artwork and digital displays. The project also replaced the electrical substation to support the third track, and the Nassau Boulevard bridge was updated to allow a three-track layout with a 14‑foot clearance. The old station building was removed to create more parking, and the area now includes improved accessibility with elevators and ramps.

Notable event: On December 7, 1993, a mass shooting occurred aboard a train near Garden City Park as it arrived at Merillon Avenue, resulting in six deaths and 19 injuries before the gunman was stopped.

Services: Trains from Mineola toward Penn Station, Grand Central, or Long Island City stop here. The station has two high-level platforms, each long enough for 12-car trains.
