Menlo Church
Menlo Church is a Presbyterian church in the San Francisco Bay Area with campuses in Menlo Park, Mountain View, San Mateo, and Saratoga. It began in 1873, and its main building at 950 Santa Cruz Avenue has been there since 1950. The North Campus in San Mateo and the South Campus in Mountain View opened in 2007 and 2008, respectively. In 2015 the church renamed itself Menlo Church to unite its campuses and later added locations in San Jose (Menlo San Jose), Saratoga, and South City.
In 2014 the congregation voted to leave the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and join ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians.
Former senior pastor John Ortberg Jr. led the church for many years. He was placed on leave in 2019 after a volunteer with a history of inappropriate behavior around minors was allowed to continue volunteering with minors; an investigation found no wrongdoing. He briefly returned in 2020 and then resigned in July 2020. John Crosby became Transitional Pastor in October 2020. In March 2021 a Mountain View worship director was fired over an old online conduct issue. In November 2022, Phil EuBank was elected as Senior Pastor after a two-year nationwide search. The church had about 3,863 members in 2016.
