Amaku Kiken na Kaori (Sweet & Dangerous Scent) is the ninth single by Tatsuro Yamashita, released in April 1982. It was his last single with the AIR/RVC label and was used as the theme song for the TV drama of the same name. The track is included on his Greatest Hits collection, and the B-side is “Music Book” from the album For You. A remastered For You reissue adds an instrumental version and a long version, and related reissues include versions of other songs. The song’s idea came from a notebook passage called “Music Book” written by Minako Yoshida; Yamashita originally planned for a veteran singer to perform it, but director Ryuzo Kosugi urged him to release it himself. The music is noted for a low-pitched piano interlude and a mature, “adult” feel. Jacket art was created by Eizin Suzuki, with a front cover showing a Schlitz beer and a horizon sign resembling Bob’s Cafe in Sioux Falls; that sign was removed and sold in 2019. The back cover features an ad for the album For You.
