Theory of Lie Groups is a series of books by Claude Chevalley about Lie groups, published in 1946, 1951, and 1955. The first book helped establish Lie groups from a global perspective and was for many years the standard text. The second and third volumes cover algebraic groups and Lie algebras; they were written in French and later released together as one volume. It seems Chevalley planned more volumes, but none were published. His 2005 lectures on the classification of semisimple algebraic groups are often seen as a continuation of the series.
