Konrad Thaler (19 December 1940 – 11 June 2005) was an Austrian arachnologist from Innsbruck. He taught and inspired other arachnologists, including Peter J. Schwendinger, at Innsbruck University. The spider Palaeoperenethis thaleri was named in his honor by P. Selden and D. Penney. Thaler served as president of the International Society of Arachnology.
