Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault is a first-person shooter made by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts for PC. It released in North America on November 4, 2004, and in Europe on November 19, 2004. It’s the seventh game in the Medal of Honor series and a sequel to Allied Assault, set during World War II in the Pacific.

The game adds new features, such as healing by calling a corpsman and giving orders to your squad to fire, regroup, move up, or fall back. The Director’s Edition includes extra content like a history presentation about the war, behind-the-scenes info on missions, and a built-in music player for the soundtrack.

You play as Pvt. Thomas Conlin, a U.S. Marine. The story begins at Tarawa when his Amtrac is hit, then flashes back to his first day of basic training where you meet your squad: Frank Minoso, Willie Gaines, and James Sullivan. After training, Conlin goes to Pearl Harbor and joins the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion. He fights in the Makin Island raid, then helps defend Henderson Field and push to retake Guadalcanal. He even becomes an improvised pilot of a SBD Dauntless and is promoted to sergeant and squad leader. At Tarawa, he helps secure the beach, destroy a Japanese command center, and take out anti-air guns.

Pacific Assault runs on a modified id Tech 3 engine with Havok physics, and one level has you flying a SBD Dauntless. The music was composed by Christopher Lennertz. The game was announced in 2003.

It received generally favorable reviews and earned a Silver sales award in the UK for selling at least 100,000 copies. It was nominated for a major industry award but lost to Half-Life 2.
