Matthew Stuart Compton (born 4 February 1979) is a former Welsh cricketer. He was a left-handed batsman and a left-arm medium-pace bowler. Born in Newport, Wales, he played for the Hampshire Cricket Board in List A cricket from 1999 to 2000.

Compton made his List A debut in the 1999 NatWest Trophy against Suffolk, scoring 105 not out. In the same tournament, he also scored 59 against Shropshire and played a match against Glamorgan. His last List A appearance came in the 2000 NatWest Trophy against Huntingdonshire. He finished his List A career with 205 runs in 4 matches at an average of 68.33, including one century (105*) and one fifty, with a top score of 105*. He also represented the Hampshire Second XI in six matches in 1999.
